Alabama Statutes § 36-25-16 Reports by persons who are related to public officials or public employees and who represent persons before regulatory body or contract with state
Statute Text
(a)
When any citizen of the state or business with which he or she is associated represents for a fee any person before a regulatory body of the Executive Branch, he or she shall report to the commission the name of any adult child, parent, spouse, brother, or sister who is a public official or a public employee of that regulatory body of the Executive Branch.
(b)
When any citizen of the state or business with which the person is associated enters into a contract for the sale of goods or services to the State of Alabama or any of its agencies or any county or municipality and any of their respective agencies in amounts exceeding seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500), he or she shall report to the commission the names of any adult child, parent, spouse, brother, or sister who is a public official or public employee of the agency or department with whom the contract is made.
(c)
This section shall not apply to any contract for the sale of goods or services awarded through a process of public notice and competitive bidding.
(d)
Each regulatory body of the Executive Branch, or any agency of the State of Alabama shall be responsible for notifying citizens affected by this chapter of the requirements of this section.
