Arizona Statutes § 16-570 Conduct of election; duties of officers; placing machines
Statute Text
A.
One election official shall attend the voting machine, and the other officers shall attend the pollbooks and perform the duties of election officials as provided by law.
B.
The voting machine shall be so placed and protected that it is accessible to only one voter at a time and is in full view of all election officers and observers at the polling place. Any port, plug, door or other method of physical or electronic access to the voting machine or to any electronic pollbook shall be secured in a manner to prevent any unauthorized access to the voting machine or electronic pollbook. The county or other officer in charge of elections shall document and verify security procedures regarding access before a voting machine or electronic pollbook is placed into service for an election.
C.
During elections the door or other compartment of the machine shall not be unlocked or opened or the counters exposed except for good and sufficient reasons, a statement of which shall be made and signed by the election officers and attached to the returns.
