Arizona Statutes § 16-612 Determination of write-in choice of voter
Statute Text
A.
When the printed name of a candidate is followed by the name of another person written on the ballot by the voter in the space provided for that purpose, and a mark as defined in section
16-400
appears in the space after either the printed or the written names, but not both, the printed name shall be rejected and the written one counted, and the action of the board shall be noted on the back of the ballot and signed by a majority of the election board.
B.
If the name of a person appears as having been voted for two or more times for the same office, the ballot shall be counted as one vote.
C.
If an elector writes on his ballot the name of any person who is a candidate for any office on some other ballot than that on which his name is so written, such elector shall thereby invalidate his vote for that particular office, but the vote on the remainder of the ballot shall be counted.
