California Statutes § 18201 Unlawful making, defacement, or destruction of nomination paper

Up to Chapter 3: Nomination Of Candidates

Statute Text

Any person who falsely makes or fraudulently defaces or destroys all or any part of a nomination paper, is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 of the Penal Code for 16 months or two or three years or by both that fine and imprisonment.

Amended by Stats 2011 ch 15 ( AB 109 ) , s 63 , eff. 4/4/2011, but operative no earlier than October 1, 2011, and only upon creation of a community corrections grant program to assist in implementing this act and upon an appropriation to fund the grant program .
