California Statutes § 2139 Return of completed affidavits of registration

Statute Text

On the day of the close of registration for any election all individuals and organizations that have submitted plans for distribution shall immediately return all completed affidavits of registration in their possession to the county elections official. Unused affidavits shall be returned upon completion of the distribution plan.

History

Amended by Stats 2015 ch 728 ( AB 1020 ) , s 24 , eff. 1/1/2016 if the Secretary of State certifies that the state has a statewide voter registration database that complies with the requirements of the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002 ( 52 U.S.C. Sec. 20901 et seq.) . Certification issued 9/26/2016.
