(a)
If a candidacy for nomination by a political party to a state office is filed by or on behalf of any person other than a party-endorsed candidate within the time specified in subsection (a) of section
9-400
and in conformity with the provisions of section
9-400
, a primary shall be held in each municipality of the state to determine the nominee of such party for such office, except as provided in section
9-416a
.
(b)
If a candidacy for nomination by a political party to a district office is filed by or on behalf of any person other than a party-endorsed candidate within the time specified in subsection (b) of section
9-400
and in conformity with the provisions of section

, a primary shall be held in each municipality of the district and each part of a municipality which is a component part of the district, to determine the nominee of such party for such office, except as provided in section

(c)
If a candidacy for nomination by a political party to a municipal office is filed by or on behalf of any person other than a party-endorsed candidate within the applicable time specified in section
