Statute Text
(a)
The
[department of elections for each county]
Department
shall ensure that each panel of absentee judges selected to officiate the procedures set forth in this chapter
[within the county]
represent a politically balanced cross section of the major political parties participating in the election for which absentee ballots are being counted.
(b)
The
[department of elections for each county]
Department
shall promulgate regulations to ensure the security and integrity of the procedures set forth in this chapter and that the counting process for absentee ballots is not subject to improper influences.
