Florida Statutes § 100.261 Holding bond referenda with other elections
Statute Text
Whenever any bond referendum is called, it shall be lawful for any county, district, or municipality to hold such bond referendum on the day of any state, county, or municipal primary or general election, or on the day of any election of such county, district, or municipality for any purpose other than the purpose of voting on such bonds. If such bond referendum is held concurrently with a regularly scheduled election, the county, district, or municipality
must

pay only its pro rata share of election costs directly related to the bond referendum. However,
[nothing in]
this section
does not
[shall]
prohibit the holding of a special or separate bond referendum
, except that if the bond issue amount is greater than $500 million, the bond referendum must be held at a general election
.
