Illinois Regulations § 2 IAC 560.200 Persons Required to Register

Regulation Text

The following individuals shall register with the Secretary of State Index Department:
a) Any natural person who, for compensation or otherwise, undertakes to lobby as defined in Section 560.100 . (Section 3(a) of the Act)
b) Any personor entity who employs, retains, or compensates another personfor the purposes of lobbying, even if lobbying constitutes a small percentage of the individual's duties. (Section 3(a) of the Act) For example, XYZ Corporation is required to register upon retaining a lobbying entity that does not lobby exclusively for XYZ Corporation or upon employing an individual to lobby exclusively for XYZ Corporation.
