These rules are established to implement the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (Supp. to Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 116, pars. 201 et seq.) within the office of the Attorney General. The purpose of these rules is to support the policy of providing public access to public records in the custody of the Attorney General while also protecting legitimate interests in privacy and confidentiality and maintaining the efficient operation of the office of the Attorney General.
