Illinois Statutes § 5/2A-27 Cities generally; mayor; clerk; treasurer; time of election

A mayor, a city clerk, and a city treasurer shall be elected in each city that elects those officers (except the City of Chicago) at the consolidated election in 1979 or 1981 (in whichever of those years the terms of those officers expire) and at the consolidated election every 4 years thereafter. In cities that have provided for a 2 year term for elective officers under Section 3.1-10-65 of the Illinois Municipal Code, however, these city officers shall be elected at the consolidated election of each odd-numbered year.
