Illinois Statutes § 5/6-68 Procedure for securing registration affidavits

All affidavits made before judges of election under the provisions of this Article or of Article 14 of this Act shall be immediately returned to the office of the board of election commissioners. Such affidavits, before being so returned, shall be enclosed in an envelope provided for that purpose, which shall then be securely sealed with sealing wax or other adhesive material, and each of the judges shall write his name across the seal. No judge of election shall break the seal of, or open any envelope containing affidavits, or shall permit any person to open any such envelope or break the seal thereof while the same is in his custody.
