Indiana Statutes § 3-6-6-40 Training precinct election officers; content of training; training waiver
Statute Text
(a)
The county election board shall conduct a training and educational meeting for precinct election officers.
(b)
The board shall require inspectors to attend the meeting and may require other precinct election officers to attend the meeting. The board shall maintain a record of the attendance of each individual at the meeting conducted under this subsection.
(c)
The meeting required under this section must include information:
(1)
relating to making polling places and voting systems accessible to elderly voters and voters with a disability; and
(2)
relating to the voting systems used in the county.
The meeting may include other information relating to the duties of precinct election officers as determined by the county election board.
(d)
The meeting required by this section must be held not later than the day before election day.
(e)
If an individual:
(1)
is appointed as a precinct election officer after the training and educational meeting conducted under this section; or
(2)
demonstrates to the county election board that the individual was unable to attend the meeting due to good cause;
the county election board may authorize the individual to serve as a precinct election officer if the county election board determines that there is insufficient time to conduct the training required by this section.
