Indiana Statutes § 3-8-7-17 Notice that person will not accept nomination
Statute Text
(a)
The election division may not certify the name of a person whose certificate or petition of nomination has been filed with the election division if the person has filed a notice with the election division that the person will not accept the nomination contained in the certificate or petition of nomination.
(b)
The notice must be signed and acknowledged before an officer authorized to take acknowledgments of deeds in a form prescribed by the election division.
(c)
A county election board may not include on the ballot the name of a person whose certificate or petition of nomination has been filed in the circuit court clerk's office if the person has notified the clerk in the same manner that the person will not accept the nomination.
(d)
The name of a candidate who has given notice under this section may not be included on the ballot.
