Kansas Statutes § 25-126 Powers and duties of the secretary of state and county election officers in conducting elections
Statute Text
(a)
The secretary of state shall be responsible for assisting and advising county election officers in conducting elections in compliance with federal and state laws and rules and regulations.
(b)
Each county election officer shall be the sole public officer responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating elections held within such officer's county. Such officer shall be responsible for ensuring that all such elections comply with federal and state law and rules and regulations.
