Kansas Statutes § 25-3203 Abstract of intermediate canvass; transmittal to secretary of state; county recount notification requirements

If the secretary of state fails to receive the final abstract of the intermediate canvass of any national or state election from any county by the second Tuesday next after any election, the secretary shall dispatch a special messenger to obtain a copy of the same, and the county election officer shall immediately, on demand of such messenger, make out and deliver to such messenger the copy required. Thereupon, the messenger shall deliver such copy to the secretary of state without delay. The expenses of such messenger shall be paid by the secretary of state, and the secretary of state shall be reimbursed therefor by such county.
Any county conducting a recount pursuant to K.S.A. 25-3107, and amendments thereto, shall notify the secretary of state of the recount and shall set a date, subject to approval by the secretary of state, when the county election officer shall submit the intermediate abstract of the county to the secretary of state.
