Louisiana Regulations § 52-I-2319 Expenditures Made Directly by the Principal or Employer

A.
An expenditure made directly by an employer or principal in connection with a reception, social gathering, or other function shall be attributed to and reported by the lobbyist who attends the function. If more than one lobbyist attends the function, then the total amount spent by the employer or principal on the function shall be attributed in equal portions to the lobbyists who attend.
B.
If a lobbyist is not present at the time an expenditure is made by an employer or principal, a lobbyist who represents the employer or principal's interests must report the expenditure.
C.
An employer or principal who makes such an expenditure is required to provide the following information to the lobbyist no later than two business days after the close of each reporting period:
1.
the total amount of the expenditure;
2.
the amount of the expenditure that has been attributed to the lobbyist and which must be reported by the lobbyist;
3.
the nature of the expenditure;
4.
the names of the local government officials involved; and
5.
the agencies of the local government officials involved.
D.
Failure by the employer or principal to provide the necessary information to its lobbyist regarding such expenditure will cause the employer or principal to be required to register and report as a lobbyist and may subject the employer or principal to penalties.
