Massachusetts Statutes § 56:38 Editorial support; paying for or receiving payment
Statute Text
No person shall pay the owner, editor, publisher, or agent of a newspaper or other periodical to induce him editorially to advocate or oppose any candidate for public office or political principle, or any question submitted to the voters; and no such owner, editor, publisher, or agent shall accept such payment. This section shall not apply to the outright purchase of such newspaper or periodical.
