Dear Mrs. Richardson:

Attorney General Allain has received your letter of request and has assigned it to me for research and reply. Your letter states:

"Having received the 1983 Election Calendar and information Guide from the Secretary of State's office, we find that they failed to give us the cut-off date for registration for the August 2 Primary. Since the 30 days ends on a Sunday, would you please give us the official cut-off date?"

In response to your inquiry, since July 3, 1983, falls on a Sunday, registration must be accomplished before said date.

The last day for registration will be Saturday, July 2, 1983, if the registrar's office is open on that day. If the registrar's office is not open on that Saturday, the last day for registration will be Friday, July 1, 1983.
