Dear Mr. Caraway:
Attorney General Pittman has received your opinion request dated November 19, 1984, and has assigned it to me for research and reply. Your inquiry states:
As Attorney for the Hinds County Board of Supervisors, I am requesting an Attorney General's Opinion:
Two members of the Hinds County Election Commission recently served on the Election Laws Task Force Reform Committee, founded by the Secretary of State. They worked diligently for approximately 20 days.
The question to be answered is as follows:
Can Hinds County Legally pay these two people for their service on this committee?
I enclose an opinion of this office dated November 29, 1984 addressed to Ms. Sue Sautermeister, which appears to answer your question.
