Nevada Statutes § 293.5832 Methods and procedures for updating voter registration information during certain periods; casting of provisional ballot under certain circumstances

Effective Until 1/1/2024
1.
After the close of registration for an election pursuant to
NRS
293.560
or
293C.527
, a registered voter may update his or her voter registration information, including, without limitation, his or her name, address and party affiliation.
2.
The county or city clerk shall authorize one or more of the following methods for a registered voter to update his or her voter registration information pursuant to this section:
(a)
A paper application;
(b)
A system established pursuant to
NRS
293.506
for using a computer to register voters; or
(c)
The system established by the Secretary of State pursuant to
NRS
293.671
.
If the county or city clerk authorizes the use of more than one method, the county or city clerk may limit the use of a particular method to circumstances when another method is not reasonably available.
3.
If a registered voter updates his or her voter registration information pursuant to this section and applies to vote in the election, the county or city clerk may require the voter to cast a provisional ballot in the election if any circumstances exist that give the county or city clerk reasonable cause to believe that the use of a provisional ballot is necessary to provide sufficient time to verify and determine whether the voter is eligible to cast the ballot in the election based on his or her updated voter registration information.
4.
If a registered voter casts a provisional ballot in the election pursuant to this section, the provisional ballot is subject to final verification in accordance with the procedures that apply to other provisional ballots cast in the election pursuant to
