New Jersey Regulations § 19:25-17.5 Penalty for making or accepting a contribution in excess of the contribution limit

(a)
A candidate, candidate committee, joint candidates committee, political committee, continuing political committee, political party committee, legislative leadership committee, campaign treasurer, organizational treasurer, or person, who knowingly, willfully, or intentionally makes or accepts a contribution that, either alone or when aggregated with prior contributions from the same contributor, is in excess of the limits pursuant to
N.J.A.C.
19:25-11.2
, shall be subject to the penalties prescribed by N.J.S.A. 19:44A-22e.
(b)
The knowing, willful, or intentional acceptance of a contribution that, either alone or when aggregated with prior contributions from the same contributor, is in excess of the limits pursuant to
19:25-11.2
, shall refer to the act of receiving a contribution and retaining for a period of more than 48-hours the amount of the contribution that is in excess of the applicable limit established pursuant to
19:25-11.2

(c)
The knowing, willful, or intentional making of a contribution that, either alone or when aggregated with prior contributions from the same contributor, is in excess of the limits pursuant to
19:25-11.2
, shall refer to the act of making a contribution in an amount that is in excess of the applicable limit established pursuant to
19:25-11.2
and delivering the contribution or causing the contribution to be delivered to a candidate, or to a campaign or organizational treasurer, or to any other person authorized to receive funds on behalf of a candidate committee, joint candidates committee, political committee, continuing political committee, political party committee, or legislative leadership committee.
