(a)
A continuing political committee, a political party committee, or a legislative leadership committee shall file quarterly reports of all contributions received, all expenditures made, and all other transactions of its election fund subject to reporting, which reports shall be due for filing and shall include the following periods of time:
1.
The first quarterly report shall be due for filing on April 15 of a calendar year. The first quarterly report shall include all contributions received or expenditures made for the following period of time: beginning with the first transaction occurring on or after January 1 of the calendar year of the filing date, and ending with the last transaction occurring on March 31 of that calendar year;
2.
The second quarterly report shall be due for filing on July 15 of a calendar year. The second quarterly report shall include all contributions received or expenditures made for the following period of time: beginning with the first transaction occurring on or after April 1 of the calendar year of the filing date, and ending with the last transaction occurring on June 30 of that calendar year;
3.
The third quarterly report shall be due for filing on October 15 of a calendar year. The third quarterly report shall include all contributions received or expenditures made for the following period of time: beginning with the first transaction occurring on or after July 1 of the calendar year of the filing date, and ending with the last transaction occurring on September 30 of that calendar year; and
4.
The fourth quarterly report shall be due for filing on January 15 of a calendar year. The fourth quarterly report shall include all contributions received and expenditures made for the following period of time: beginning with the first transaction occurring on or after October 1 of the calendar year preceding the calendar year of the filing date, and ending with the last transaction occurring on December 31 of the calendar year preceding the calendar year of the filing date.
(b)
The initial quarterly report shall be filed for the calendar year quarter in which the continuing political committee, political party committee, or legislative leadership committee was established or required to be established, and, in the case of a continuing political committee, quarterly reports shall continue to be filed in each calendar year quarter pursuant to (a) above until such time as a final quarterly report is filed pursuant to
19:25-9.5
. A political party committee or a legislative leadership committee cannot terminate quarterly reporting requirements.
(c)
The organizational treasurer shall file and certify the correctness of the quarterly report, and shall certify that no contributions have been received in violation of the contribution limits prescribed by the Act.
