New Mexico Statutes § 1-21-4 Application for presidential ballot

A.
A new resident desiring to vote for presidential officers under the provisions of the Federal Voting Rights Compliance Act shall, at least thirty days prior to the date of a federal election, individually execute in the presence of the county clerk of the county in which he claims residence an application for a presidential ballot for the presidential election.
B.
A former resident desiring to vote for presidential officers under the provisions of the Federal Voting Rights Compliance Act shall individually execute an application for a presidential ballot for the presidential election. The application for a presidential ballot shall be made by a former resident on a form obtainable in person or upon written application therefor from the county clerk of the county in which the former resident claimed New Mexico residence prior to his removal to another state. The application for a presidential ballot by a former resident shall be authorization for the county clerk to cancel the former resident's certificate of registration, if such there be.
