North Dakota Statutes § 16.1-15-23 Notice of nomination given candidate for county office by county auditor - Publication of findings of canvassing board
Statute Text
Upon the completion of the canvass of the returns of a primary election by the county canvassing board, the county auditor shall mail or deliver in person to each candidate nominated for any county office a certificate of the candidate's nomination and notice that the candidate's name will be placed on the official ballot. If the election results indicate that any candidate is entitled to a recount or to demand a recount pursuant to section
16.1-16-01
, the county auditor may not prepare or deliver the certificate of nomination until the time to demand a recount has expired, or the recount results have been determined and the winner declared, whichever is later. Nomination notices for other than county offices must be given by the secretary of state pursuant to section
16.1-15-40
. The county auditor shall cause a copy of the findings of the canvassing board to be published in the official newspaper of the county.
