Vermont Statutes § 2643 Special meetings
Statute Text
(a)
The legislative body may warn a special municipal meeting when it deems it necessary and shall call a special meeting on the application of five percent of the voters. A special meeting shall be warned within 60 days of receipt of the application by the municipal clerk. A voter may withdraw his or her name from a petition for a special meeting at any time prior to the signing of the warning by a majority of the legislative body.

(c)
The legislative body may rescind the call of a special meeting called by them but not a special meeting called on application of five percent of the voters.
